Customer Experience

Haregloss Studio is recognizable from the street by its black-trimmed glass display window — a grid of dark panes framing product shelves and greenery, with the studio’s wordmark above and a floral arch at the door. It occupies a ground-floor space on the P Street block east of Wisconsin Avenue, in a stretch of colorful Georgetown row houses, and reads as exactly what it is: a well-appointed, deliberately small hair studio.

It’s a booking-based operation, not a walk-in shop. Three stylists cover the salon, each with a long track record in the industry. The focus is on color and extensions work — balayage, highlights, advanced color techniques, certified Great Lengths extensions (Cold Fusion Pre-Bond), keratin blowouts, and gloss treatments. Products run to Kérastase, Wella, Redken, Olaplex, and K18. The studio opened publicly in early 2025 under founder Kay Nou, who has been working in DC color for more than two decades and built a following as a color specialist before establishing the studio.

Claim to Fame

The team’s combined experience is substantial. Kay Nou (founder, 24-plus years) is the studio’s anchor colorist, known for her balayage and skin-tone color work. Greg Whittington (25-plus years) is Graham Webb Academy-trained, has worked bicoastally in DC, New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Austin, and holds Great Lengths certification. Together they bring the kind of depth that is hard to find in a newer salon — the studio may be young but the hands behind it are not.

Because pricing is set per consultation rather than published on a fixed menu, the first step is always a conversation about what you’re trying to do and what it’ll take — which is also the practical advantage of a studio this size over a larger salon.

Preparing for Your Visit

Book online at hareglossstudio.com or call (202) 355-4314; individual stylists also take bookings through their own platforms. The studio is open Tuesday through Friday 10am–6pm and Saturday 9am–5pm, closed Sunday and Monday.

No pricing is published — expect a consultation call or message to work out scope and cost before your appointment. The studio is on the residential east end of P Street; street parking is limited and metered, but manageable compared to the Wisconsin and M Street corridors.
